How and where to use guide
VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows Pine 66x118cm GGL FK06 3070
Installation and positioning
Install this centre-pivot window on pitched roofs where the opening allows for the full rotation envelope. The top control bar design permits installation at lower positions than traditional roof windows, enabling excellent sightlines whether standing or seated. Ensure the roof structure can accommodate the frame dimensions of 660mm x 1180mm and that flashing is properly sealed to prevent water ingress. Pre-fitted brackets for blinds are already in place, allowing quick accessory installation after fitting.
- Position lower on the roof slope to maximise views from seated positions
- Verify roof pitch and structural support before installation
- Ensure adequate clearance above for the top control bar operation
- Check that flashing is correctly installed and sealed
Operation and ventilation
Open the top control bar to the ventilation position to allow fresh air circulation whilst keeping the window closed, ideal for controlled indoor air quality without full opening. The centre-pivot design rotates the sash 180 degrees, enabling you to safely clean the exterior glass from inside without accessing the roof. This rotation also permits unrestricted furniture placement directly beneath the window, as the sash swings inward rather than outward.
- Use ventilation position for fresh air without full opening
- Rotate 180 degrees for safe external glass cleaning from indoors
- Operate smoothly even with furniture positioned underneath
- Close fully to maintain thermal and weather performance
Glazing and maintenance
The window features premium safety lamination, toughened glass, and a UV filter as standard. A unique rain noise reduction system minimises sound during wet weather. The removable and cleanable ventilation filter protects your home from dust and insects whilst allowing air circulation. Clean the filter regularly to maintain ventilation efficiency and replace when necessary.
- Clean the removable ventilation filter regularly to prevent dust and insect buildup
- Wipe glazing with soft cloth and mild detergent; avoid abrasive materials
- Check seals and flashing annually for water tightness
- Laminated and toughened glass provides safety and durability
Typical applications
This window suits bedrooms, home offices, loft conversions, and living spaces where furniture placement flexibility is essential. The lower installation position and seated sightline make it particularly effective in rooms where occupants spend time at desk or seating level. The 180-degree cleaning rotation is valuable for pitched roofs where external access is difficult or unsafe.
- Bedrooms with beds or wardrobes positioned below the window
- Home offices where desks sit beneath the roof slope
- Loft conversions with limited floor space
- Rooms where external roof access is restricted or hazardous
