How and where to use guide

VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows Pine 94x160cm GGL PK10 3070

Typical applications and positioning

Install this centre-pivot window in pitched roof spaces where you want to maximise usable floor area. The top control bar design allows you to position the window lower than traditional models, giving excellent sightlines whether standing or seated. This makes it particularly suitable for bedrooms, attic rooms, home offices, and living spaces in loft conversions. The 94x160cm size suits standard rafter spacings and provides good natural light and ventilation without dominating the roof plane.

  • Bedrooms and guest rooms where furniture placement is essential
  • Home offices and studies requiring a view while seated
  • Loft conversions and attic rooms with limited floor space
  • Spaces where traditional top-hung windows would obstruct furniture arrangement

Operating the window safely and effectively

The top control bar is your main operating mechanism. Push it outward to open the window to the ventilation position, which allows fresh air circulation through a partially closed window without fully opening it. For full opening, continue pushing the control bar until the window reaches its full 180-degree rotation point. This rotation capability is essential for safe external glass cleaning from inside the room. Always ensure the control bar moves freely before operation, and never force it if resistance is felt. The window is designed to operate smoothly even with furniture positioned directly underneath.

  • Use ventilation position for fresh air without full opening
  • Rotate fully 180 degrees for safe external glass cleaning from indoors
  • Operate smoothly even with furniture placed beneath the window
  • Check control bar moves freely before each use

Glazing features and maintenance

The window comes fitted with premium glazing as standard, including safety lamination, toughened glass, a UV filter, and integrated rain noise reduction. This combination protects your home and provides comfort. The removable and cleanable ventilation filter should be checked regularly and cleaned or replaced as needed to maintain airflow and protect against dust and insect ingress. Clean the glass using standard window cleaning methods; the 180-degree rotation makes external surfaces accessible from inside without ladders or scaffolding.

  • Check and clean the ventilation filter regularly to maintain airflow
  • Replace filter if airflow reduces or visible dust accumulation occurs
  • Clean glass using standard methods; full rotation allows safe external access
  • Safety lamination and toughened glass are fitted as standard

On-site tips and blind installation

The window arrives with pre-fitted brackets for blind installation, allowing you to quickly and easily add blinds by clicking them into place without additional fixings. Ensure the roof structure and flashing are correctly prepared before installation to prevent water ingress. Allow adequate ventilation space around the window frame during installation. The centre-pivot design means you can safely operate the window even after furniture has been moved into position, making it ideal for completed room layouts.

  • Pre-fitted brackets allow quick blind installation by clicking into place
  • Ensure roof flashing is correctly sealed to prevent water ingress
  • Allow adequate ventilation space around the frame during installation
  • Window can be operated safely with furniture in place beneath it
