VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows White Painted 55x118cm GGL CK06 2070

Installation and positioning

Install this centre-pivot window on pitched roofs at a lower position than traditional roof windows to maximise your view and ease of operation. The top control bar design means you can position the window lower without compromising usability, even when seated. This makes it particularly suitable for bedrooms, home offices, and living areas in loft conversions where sightlines and furniture placement are priorities. Ensure the roof structure and flashing are prepared to the manufacturer's specifications before fitting.

  • Position lower than standard roof windows for better seated views
  • Ideal for rooms where furniture will be placed directly below the window
  • Suitable for pitched roof installations in residential properties
  • Pre-fitted brackets allow quick blind installation without additional fixings

Operation and ventilation

The top control bar provides two operating modes. Push the bar to the ventilation position to allow fresh air circulation through a closed window, useful for continuous background ventilation without weather exposure. Fully open the bar to swing the sash outward. The centre-pivot design allows the window to rotate 180 degrees, enabling you to safely clean the outer glass from inside without climbing onto the roof or using external equipment.

  • Use ventilation position for fresh air without opening the sash fully
  • Rotate 180 degrees for safe internal cleaning of exterior glass
  • Operate easily even with furniture positioned underneath
  • Top control bar is accessible from standing or seated positions

Glazing and weather protection

The window comes with premium glazing as standard, including safety lamination and toughened glass for impact resistance and security. A UV filter protects interior furnishings and fittings from sun damage, whilst the unique rain noise reduction feature minimises sound transmission during wet weather. A removable and cleanable ventilation filter protects your home from dust and insects when the window is in ventilation mode, and should be checked and cleaned regularly depending on local air quality and seasonal conditions.

  • Safety lamination and toughened glass provide security and impact resistance
  • UV filter reduces fading of interior furnishings
  • Unique rain noise reduction minimises weather sound
  • Removable ventilation filter requires regular cleaning to maintain airflow

Maintenance and on-site tips

Keep the ventilation filter clean by removing and rinsing it regularly, particularly during high-pollen seasons or in dusty environments. The 180-degree rotation makes routine external glass cleaning straightforward without specialist equipment. Check that the top control bar operates smoothly and that the pivot mechanism is free from debris. Blinds can be quickly fitted using the pre-installed brackets, allowing you to control light and privacy without additional drilling or fixings. Ensure the roof flashing is sealed properly to prevent water ingress around the window frame.

  • Clean the ventilation filter regularly to maintain airflow and air quality
  • Use the 180-degree rotation for safe external glass cleaning
  • Check pivot mechanism is free from debris and operates smoothly
  • Install blinds using pre-fitted brackets for quick setup
  • Verify roof flashing is properly sealed to prevent water penetration
