How and where to use guide

VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows White Painted 66x118cm GGL FK06 2070

Typical applications and positioning

Install this window in pitched roofs where headroom is limited or where you plan to place wardrobes, desks or beds beneath the window line. The centre-pivot design means the sash rotates about its horizontal centre point, making it ideal for bedrooms, home offices and living spaces in loft conversions. Position the window at a lower height than traditional top-hung units to achieve an excellent view both when standing and seated, without sacrificing usable floor space below. The window suits both new-build roof installations and retrofit projects in existing timber-framed pitched roofs.

  • Loft bedrooms and attic conversions with limited floor space
  • Rooms where furniture placement directly below the window is planned
  • Installations requiring both daylighting and controlled ventilation
  • Properties where external window cleaning access is difficult or unsafe

Operation and ventilation

Open the top control bar to the ventilation position to allow fresh air circulation through a closed window, providing background ventilation without full opening. For complete access or cleaning, rotate the sash 180 degrees about its centre pivot point. This full rotation capability allows you to safely clean the outer glass from inside the room without requiring external access equipment or scaffolding. The removable and cleanable ventilation filter should be checked regularly and cleaned or replaced as needed to maintain airflow and protect your home from dust and insect ingress.

  • Use ventilation position for background fresh air without full opening
  • Rotate 180 degrees for safe internal cleaning of exterior glass surfaces
  • Check and clean the ventilation filter regularly to maintain performance
  • Operate smoothly even with furniture positioned directly underneath

Glazing specification and safety

The window comes standard with premium safety lamination and toughened glass, providing impact resistance and security. The integrated UV filter reduces solar heat gain and protects furnishings from fading, whilst the unique rain noise reduction feature minimises sound transmission during wet weather. These features are factory-fitted and require no additional specification or upgrade at point of installation.

  • Safety laminated and toughened glass as standard specification
  • UV filter integrated to reduce solar gain and protect interior furnishings
  • Rain noise reduction technology minimises weather-related sound transmission
  • No additional glazing upgrades required for standard installations

Blind installation and maintenance

Pre-fitted brackets are built into the window frame, allowing you to quickly and easily click blinds into position without drilling or additional fixings. This modular approach simplifies installation and allows you to add or change blinds without tools. Regular maintenance involves cleaning the glass surfaces using the 180-degree rotation feature for safe access to external panes, and periodic inspection of the control bar mechanism and pivot hinges to ensure smooth operation. Wipe down the frame and sash with a damp cloth and mild detergent; avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the white painted finish.

  • Click blinds directly into pre-fitted brackets without drilling or fixings
  • Clean glass safely by rotating the sash 180 degrees from inside
  • Inspect pivot hinges and control bar regularly for smooth operation
  • Use mild detergent and damp cloth on painted surfaces; avoid abrasive products
