How and where to use guide
VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows White Painted 78x118cm GGL MK06 2066
Installation and positioning
Install this centre-pivot window in roof slopes, gable walls, or any vertical wall where you need flexible furniture placement below. The top control bar design allows you to position the window lower than traditional models whilst maintaining excellent sightlines. Ensure the window is fitted according to VELUX installation guidelines and that the roof structure can support the frame weight. The centre-pivot action requires adequate clearance in front of the window when opened, so measure your room depth before installation. This window is particularly suited to bedrooms, home offices, and living spaces in converted lofts where you want to avoid obstruction from furniture.
- Position lower than standard windows for better views when seated
- Allows furniture placement directly underneath without obstruction
- Suitable for loft conversions and attic room installations
- Requires adequate clearance in front for safe pivot operation
Operation and ventilation
Open the top control bar to the ventilation position to allow fresh air circulation through a closed window, providing background ventilation without full opening. For complete opening, operate the control bar fully to rotate the sash 180 degrees around its centre pivot. This full rotation is particularly useful for safe external glass cleaning from inside the property, eliminating the need for external access or ladders on steep roof pitches. The removable and cleanable ventilation filter should be checked regularly and cleaned to maintain airflow and protect your home from dust and insects.
- Use ventilation position for fresh air without full opening
- Rotate 180 degrees for safe external glass cleaning from inside
- Clean and check the removable ventilation filter regularly
- Easy operation even with furniture positioned below the window
Glazing and maintenance
The window comes with premium glazing features as standard, including safety lamination and toughened glass for impact resistance and security. The glazing incorporates a UV filter to reduce sun damage to furnishings, an antidew coating to minimise condensation, and rain noise reduction technology for improved comfort. The easy-clean glass coating helps reduce maintenance frequency. Wipe the glass regularly with a soft cloth and mild detergent. The 180-degree rotation capability makes external cleaning straightforward without requiring external scaffolding or window cleaning equipment on roof pitches.
- Safety lamination and toughened glass provide security and durability
- UV filter protects interior furnishings from sun damage
- Antidew coating reduces condensation buildup
- Rain noise reduction improves acoustic comfort
- Easy-clean coating minimises maintenance requirements
Accessories and customisation
Blinds and other accessories can be quickly and easily added by clicking them into the pre-fitted attachment points on the window frame. This modular approach allows you to add shading, thermal control, or blackout options without complex installation. Plan your accessory requirements at the specification stage to ensure the correct pre-fitted points are included in your window order.

- Specify accessory requirements when ordering the window
- Modular design allows future upgrades without reinstallation
