How and where to use guide
VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows White Painted 94x140cm GGL PK08 2070
Typical applications and installation
Install this centre-pivot window in pitched roof applications where you want to position the window lower than traditional top-hung designs, allowing excellent views whether standing or seated. It suits loft conversions, attic bedrooms, and rooms where furniture placement flexibility is important. The white painted finish integrates with most interior schemes. Ensure the roof structure and flashing are prepared to the manufacturer's specifications before installation.
- Lower installation position gives better sightlines and seated views
- Centre-pivot design allows furniture to be placed directly underneath
- Suitable for pitched roofs at angles typically between 15 and 90 degrees
- White painted finish coordinates with standard interior decoration
Operation and ventilation
The top control bar is the key to this window's functionality. Push the bar to the ventilation position to allow fresh air circulation whilst keeping the window closed, ideal for background ventilation without draughts or weather exposure. For full opening, continue operating the control bar to rotate the sash 180 degrees around its centre pivot. This rotation is smooth and controlled, and the window remains secure at any position.
- Use ventilation position for fresh air without opening the window fully
- Rotate 180 degrees for complete opening and safe exterior glass cleaning
- Operation is smooth even with furniture positioned underneath
- Control bar is accessible and easy to operate from inside the room
Cleaning and maintenance
A major advantage of the centre-pivot design is the ability to rotate the window 180 degrees, allowing you to safely clean the outer glass from inside without climbing onto the roof. The removable and cleanable ventilation filter should be checked regularly and cleaned or replaced as needed to maintain airflow and protect against dust and insect ingress. The toughened and laminated glazing is durable and requires only standard window cleaning with mild soap and water.
- Rotate window 180 degrees to access and clean exterior glass safely from inside
- Remove and clean the ventilation filter regularly to maintain airflow
- Clean glazing with mild soap and water; avoid abrasive cleaners
- Check seals and operation annually, especially after winter
Glazing features and safety
The window comes with premium glazing as standard, including safety lamination and toughened glass that meets UK building regulations. The integrated UV filter helps protect furnishings and reduces fading, whilst the unique rain noise reduction technology minimises sound during rainfall. These features are fitted as standard and require no additional specification or upgrade at point of purchase.
