VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows White Painted 134x98cm GGL UK04 2066

Typical applications and positioning

Install this window in pitched roof spaces where headroom is limited and you need flexible furniture arrangement below. The top control bar design allows you to position the window lower than traditional roof windows, giving excellent sightlines whether standing or seated. Suitable for bedrooms, home offices, studios and living spaces in loft conversions where natural light and ventilation are priorities. The 134x98cm size (UK04) fits standard UK rafter spacings and works well in both new builds and retrofit projects.

  • Position lower in the roof slope to maximise views without compromising furniture placement
  • Install in rooms requiring both ventilation and daylighting without structural obstruction
  • Ideal for properties where traditional vertical windows cannot be used

Safe operation and daily use

The centre-pivot mechanism allows the sash to rotate 180 degrees around its horizontal centre axis. Open the top control bar to the ventilation position for fresh air circulation without fully opening the window. For full opening, continue rotating the bar until the sash reaches its maximum 180-degree position. The window remains secure and controllable even with furniture positioned directly underneath, as the top bar operation does not require floor clearance. Always ensure the control bar is fully closed and latched before leaving the room unattended.

  • Use the top control bar for ventilation without full opening
  • Rotate 180 degrees for complete access and safe outer glass cleaning from inside
  • Window operates safely with furniture underneath — no floor space needed
  • Ensure full closure and latching before unoccupied periods

Cleaning and maintenance

The 180-degree rotation feature allows you to safely clean the exterior glass from inside the room without ladders or external access. Simply rotate the sash fully and wipe both outer and inner surfaces. The glazing includes an easy-to-clean coating to reduce smearing and water spotting. The removable and cleanable ventilation filter should be inspected regularly and cleaned or replaced as needed to maintain airflow and protect against dust and insect ingress. Check the filter monthly during high-pollen seasons or if you notice reduced ventilation.

  • Rotate window 180 degrees to access and clean outer glass safely from inside
  • Use the easy-clean glazing coating with soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Remove and clean the ventilation filter monthly or as required
  • Replace filter if cleaning does not restore airflow

Glazing features and weather protection

The window comes with premium standard glazing including safety lamination, toughened glass, UV filter, anti-dew coating and integrated rain noise reduction. These features work together to provide thermal comfort, condensation resistance, UV protection and acoustic performance. The anti-dew coating reduces internal condensation in poorly ventilated spaces, whilst the rain noise reduction minimises external weather sound transmission. The safety lamination and toughened glass meet UK building regulations for roof windows and provide impact resistance.

  • Safety lamination and toughened glass meet building regulations and impact standards
  • Anti-dew coating reduces condensation in humid conditions
  • Rain noise reduction minimises external weather sound
  • UV filter protects interior furnishings and reduces solar heat gain
