How and where to use guide
GGL UK10 2070 Centre pivot,manual,white paint,double glazed 70Pane,134x160
Installation and positioning
Install this centre-pivot window in roof slopes between 15 and 90 degrees. The top-operated control bar allows you to position the window lower than traditional top-hung designs, giving excellent views whether standing or seated. This makes it particularly suitable for bedrooms, studies and living spaces in loft conversions. Ensure the window frame is properly flashed and sealed according to VELUX installation guidelines to prevent water ingress. The pre-fitted brackets for blinds are already in place, allowing quick addition of blackout or thermal blinds after installation.
- Suitable for roof slopes 15 to 90 degrees
- Lower installation position improves sightlines from seated position
- Allows furniture placement directly underneath without obstruction
- Pre-fitted blind brackets enable quick accessory installation
Operation and ventilation
Open the top control bar to the ventilation position to allow fresh air circulation while keeping the window closed, ideal for moisture control in bathrooms and bedrooms. The manual operation is straightforward and requires no power supply. For cleaning, rotate the window 180 degrees to safely access the outer glass from inside without working at height or using external equipment. This feature is particularly valuable for maintenance in high roof positions.
- Use ventilation position for fresh air without full opening
- Rotate 180 degrees for safe internal cleaning of exterior glass
- Manual operation works reliably without electrical dependency
- Removable ventilation filter traps dust and insects during air circulation
Glazing performance and maintenance
The double glazing incorporates safety lamination, toughened glass and a UV filter as standard, providing thermal insulation, security and protection from sun damage to furnishings. The unique rain noise reduction feature minimises sound during heavy rainfall. The removable ventilation filter should be checked regularly and cleaned or replaced as needed to maintain air quality and prevent dust accumulation. Clean the glass using standard window cleaning methods; the toughened outer pane is durable and resistant to impact.
- Safety lamination and toughened glass provide security and durability
- UV filter protects interior furnishings from sun damage
- Rain noise reduction technology minimises weather sound
- Check and clean ventilation filter regularly for optimal air quality
On-site tips and limitations
This is a manual window and requires physical operation of the top control bar; it is not suitable for positions where users cannot safely reach the control mechanism. The centre-pivot design means the window swings outward and inward, so ensure adequate roof space clearance during operation. In very high installations, consider the practicality of manual operation for daily use. The white paint finish is standard; check compatibility with your roof covering and surrounding materials. Always follow the manufacturer's flashing and sealing instructions to ensure long-term weatherproofing.
- Manual operation requires accessible top control bar
- Ensure adequate clearance for pivot movement during opening
- White paint finish should be verified for aesthetic compatibility
- Proper flashing installation is critical for weather protection
