How and where to use guide

VELUX Twin and Combination Flashings 78x140cm EBP MK08 0021B

Suitable applications and roof types

These flashings are designed specifically for use with Velux roof vents on pitched roofs. They provide the weather-tight seal necessary to prevent water penetration around the vent opening. The EBP profile is engineered for both domestic and commercial roofing applications where reliable weathering resistance is required. The 78 x 140cm dimensions are sized for standard Velux vent installations.

  • Pitched roofs only, with maximum slope of 30 degrees
  • Compatible with FSC timber grades 32mm or 44mm thick
  • Suitable for domestic and commercial roofing projects
  • Designed for standard Velux roof vent sizes

Installation and positioning

The flashing must be installed around the complete perimeter of the roof vent opening to create a continuous weather-tight seal. Correct positioning is critical to ensure water runs down and away from the vent rather than pooling or seeping beneath the flashing. The flashing sits between the roof covering and the vent frame, with the upper edge tucked under the roof tiles or slates above and the lower edge overlapping the roof covering below.

  • Install around the full perimeter of the vent opening
  • Position upper edge under roof tiles or slates
  • Ensure lower edge overlaps roof covering below
  • Maintain continuous seal with no gaps or breaks

Material properties and durability

The flashing is manufactured from PVC, which provides reliable long-term performance in exposed roof conditions. The EBP profile design delivers durability and weathering resistance, protecting against UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and moisture. PVC construction requires minimal maintenance and will not rot, rust, or corrode like traditional metal flashings. The material remains flexible in cold weather and resistant to degradation from prolonged sun exposure.

  • PVC construction resists rot, rust, and corrosion
  • EBP profile engineered for weathering resistance
  • Maintains flexibility in cold weather conditions
  • Minimal maintenance required over product lifespan

Limitations and important considerations

These flashings are rated for pitched roofs with a maximum slope of 30 degrees. Installation on steeper pitches may compromise water shedding performance and increase the risk of water ingress. The flashing is designed specifically for use with Velux roof vents and compatible timber grades; use with other vent types or timber specifications may result in poor fit or seal failure. Ensure the timber substrate is in good condition and properly prepared before installation to achieve a secure, weather-tight installation.

  • Not suitable for roofs pitched steeper than 30 degrees
  • Designed for Velux vents only
  • Requires compatible FSC timber grades 32mm or 44mm
  • Timber substrate must be sound and properly prepared
