VELUX EDL CK02 2000 Pro+ Standard Flashings W/ Installation Products 55x78cm
Typical applications and suitability
This flashing kit is engineered for slate roof applications only. It is designed to work with VELUX roof windows and Sun Tunnel systems in the CK02 2000 size range (55×78cm). The system is appropriate for both new build projects where you are constructing a roof with slate covering and refurbishment work where you are retrofitting a roof window into an existing slate roof. The Pro+ specification ensures reliable performance in UK roof conditions including exposure to rain, wind and temperature variation typical of British climate.
- Slate roof coverings only — not suitable for tile, asphalt shingle or other roof materials
- Compatible with VELUX roof windows and Sun Tunnel systems in 55×78cm size
- Suitable for new build and refurbishment projects
- Engineered for UK weather exposure
Installation and on-site fitting
The kit includes all necessary installation products to support straightforward fitting around your roof window opening. The flashing system must be installed to create a weather-tight seal between the window frame and the slate roof covering. Proper installation is critical to prevent water ingress and ensure long-term performance. The flashing integrates with the slate finish to maintain visual consistency with your roof, meaning the installation should be carried out carefully to avoid damage to surrounding slates and to ensure neat alignment.
- All installation products are included in the kit for complete fitting
- Flashing must be installed to create a weather-tight seal around the window opening
- Take care during installation to avoid damage to surrounding slate tiles
- Ensure neat alignment and integration with existing slate roof covering
Limitations and maintenance
This flashing system is designed specifically for slate roof applications and will not provide a weather-tight seal if installed on other roof covering types. Once installed, the flashing requires no special maintenance beyond routine roof inspection to ensure it remains in good condition and free from debris. Check periodically that the seal around the window opening remains intact and that no slates have shifted or been damaged, which could compromise the weather-tight performance of the system.
- Slate roofs only — do not use on tile, asphalt or other roof materials
- Inspect periodically to ensure the seal remains intact
- Clear any debris from around the flashing and window frame
- Check that surrounding slates remain secure and undamaged
