VELUX Standard Flashings 55x98cm EDL CK04 0000

Installation and positioning

The flashing must be installed as an integral part of the window installation process, positioned between the window frame and the roof structure. Careful alignment with both the window frame and the roof pitch is essential to maintain the weathertight seal. The flashing integrates with your existing roof covering, whether tiles or slates, and should be installed before the roof covering is completed around the window opening. Ensure the flashing sits flush against the roof plane and the window frame with no gaps or misalignment.

  • Install the flashing during window installation, not as a retrofit
  • Align carefully with the window frame and roof pitch angle
  • Position before completing roof tile or slate covering
  • Check that the flashing sits flush on all sides
  • Ensure no gaps between flashing and window frame

Suitable applications

This flashing is designed exclusively for pitched roof installations with VELUX CK04 windows. It is the correct choice for new window installations or when replacing an existing CK04 window on a pitched roof with standard tile or slate covering. The flashing is not suitable for flat roofs or other window sizes.

  • Pitched roof installations only
  • VELUX CK04 windows (55x98cm) only
  • Tile or slate roof coverings
  • New installations and replacements

Maintenance and durability

The aluminium construction provides excellent resistance to corrosion and weathering, requiring minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the flashing to ensure the weathertight seal remains intact, particularly after severe weather. Check that roof tiles or slates remain properly seated around the flashing edges. Clear any debris or moss growth from around the flashing to maintain water drainage and prevent pooling.

  • Inspect the seal annually for signs of damage or deterioration
  • Clear debris and moss from around the flashing
  • Check that roof covering remains properly seated
  • Ensure water drains freely around the flashing edges

On-site handling and limitations

Handle the aluminium flashing carefully to avoid denting or bending, which could compromise the weathertight seal. This flashing is a standard system and must be matched precisely to the CK04 window size and your roof pitch. Do not attempt to modify or adapt the flashing for use with other window sizes or roof types. The flashing is designed to work as part of a complete installation system and should not be used in isolation from proper window installation procedures.

  • Handle carefully to avoid denting the aluminium
  • Use only with VELUX CK04 windows
  • Do not modify or adapt for other applications
  • Install as part of a complete window installation system
