VELUX Recessed Flashings W/ Installation Productions 134x140cm EDN UK08 2000

Typical applications and suitability

This flashing kit is intended for pitched roof installations where VELUX UK08 roof windows or compatible Sun Tunnel systems are being fitted. It is suitable for both new build projects and refurbishment work on existing properties. The slate-finish flashing is engineered to integrate with standard UK roof tile and slate profiles. The recessed installation method is particularly appropriate where visual consistency with the roof plane is a priority, such as on prominent roof slopes or conservation-sensitive properties.

  • New build roof window installations on pitched roofs
  • Refurbishment and retrofit projects
  • Roofs with slate or tile finishes
  • Applications requiring neat, flush roof integration
  • VELUX UK08 roof windows and compatible Sun Tunnel systems only

Installation and on-site preparation

The BDX 2000F installation frame must be positioned and secured to the roof structure before the flashing and window are fitted. The flashing kit is designed to create a weather-tight seal when installed correctly around the roof opening. Ensure the roof opening dimensions match the 1340×1400mm specification of this kit. The recessed installation method requires careful alignment of the frame with the roof plane to achieve a professional finish and reliable weather protection. Follow VELUX installation instructions provided with the kit to ensure correct sequencing of flashing, frame, and window components.

  • Verify roof opening matches 1340×1400mm dimensions
  • Install BDX 2000F frame first, securing to roof structure
  • Position flashing to create continuous weather-tight seal
  • Ensure frame is level and flush with roof plane
  • Follow VELUX installation documentation for component sequencing

Maintenance and durability

The slate-finish flashing is engineered for reliable performance in UK roof conditions and requires minimal maintenance. Periodically check that the flashing remains properly sealed and that no debris has accumulated around the window perimeter. The weather-tight seal should be inspected after severe weather or high winds. Keep gutters and roof drainage clear to prevent water pooling around the flashing. The recessed installation design helps protect the flashing from direct exposure, contributing to long-term durability.

  • Inspect flashing seal regularly, particularly after severe weather
  • Keep roof area around window clear of debris and moss
  • Ensure roof drainage is not obstructed
  • Check that no gaps have developed between flashing and roof surface
  • Do not attempt to modify or reposition the flashing once installed

Limitations and compatibility

This flashing kit is designed exclusively for VELUX UK08 roof windows and compatible Sun Tunnel systems. It is not suitable for other window sizes or manufacturers. The 1340×1400mm dimensions are fixed and cannot be adjusted on site. The recessed installation method is appropriate only for pitched roofs with standard tile or slate profiles; it is not designed for flat roofs or non-standard roof constructions. Ensure your roof structure and opening dimensions are confirmed before ordering.

  • Compatible with VELUX UK08 windows and Sun Tunnel systems only
  • Fixed dimensions—not adjustable for non-standard openings
  • Pitched roof applications only
  • Not suitable for flat roofs or unconventional roof structures
  • Verify compatibility with your specific VELUX window model before installation
