VELUX EDW CK06 2000 Pro+ Standard Flashings W/ Installation Products 55x118cm

Suitable applications and roof types

This flashing system is designed exclusively for pitched tile roofs with standard tile profiles. It is suitable for both new build installations where roof windows are being incorporated into the design, and refurbishment projects where existing roof windows require replacement or repair. The flashing works with VELUX CK06 roof window units and compatible Sun Tunnel systems. Do not use this flashing on flat roofs, metal roofing, slate, or non-standard tile profiles without consulting the manufacturer.

  • New build roof window installations on tiled pitched roofs
  • Refurbishment and replacement of existing VELUX CK06 windows
  • Compatible with VELUX Sun Tunnel systems in the same size range
  • Standard tile profiles with 120mm depth

Installation and on-site preparation

Before installation, ensure the roof opening is correctly sized and prepared to the manufacturer's specifications. The flashing kit includes all installation products needed for a professional fit. Position the flashing around the roof window opening, ensuring it sits flush with the tile profile and creates a continuous weather-tight seal. Follow the step-by-step instructions supplied with the kit, paying particular attention to the overlap and sealing of the flashing edges. Ensure adequate ventilation around the window frame and check that all installation products are correctly applied before re-tiling or finishing the roof surface.

  • Check roof opening dimensions match CK06 window specifications before ordering
  • Use all included installation products as directed for weather-tight performance
  • Ensure flashing sits flush with existing tile profile
  • Apply sealants and fixings according to kit instructions
  • Allow adequate drying time for any sealants before exposing to weather

Maintenance and long-term performance

The flashing system is engineered for long-term durability in UK roof conditions. After installation, periodically inspect the flashing seal, particularly after severe weather, to ensure no gaps or deterioration have occurred. Check that tiles remain properly seated around the flashing edges and that any sealant remains intact. Clear any debris or moss growth from the flashing surface to maintain water drainage. If damage is detected, address it promptly to prevent water ingress into the roof structure.

  • Inspect flashing seal annually and after severe weather events
  • Keep flashing clear of debris and moss to maintain water drainage
  • Check tile seating around flashing edges remains secure
  • Monitor sealant condition and reapply if cracks appear
  • Address any damage immediately to prevent water penetration
