This flashing kit is engineered specifically for pitched tile roofs in both new build and refurbishment work. The 120mm tile flashing depth and standard profile are designed to accommodate typical UK pitched roof specifications. The kit is sized exclusively for PK08 format VELUX roof windows measuring 942×1400mm, so verify your window size before ordering. It is not suitable for flat roofs, metal roofing, or windows in other VELUX formats.

Installation overview and site assembly
The kit arrives complete with the EDW PK08 2000 flashing and BDX 2000 installation products, eliminating the need to source components separately. On site, assemble the flashing system according to the included installation instructions before fitting the roof window. The flashing must be positioned to create a weather-tight seal between the window frame and the roof tiles. Ensure the roof opening is accurately sized to match the 942×1400mm flashing dimensions, and that the surrounding roof structure is sound and level. Work from inside the roof space where possible to verify correct seating of the flashing before securing externally.

Weather-tight performance and maintenance
The 120mm tile flashing depth is engineered to shed water effectively and maintain a weather-tight seal on pitched roofs. After installation, inspect the flashing seal around the window frame and check that all tiles are properly bedded and secured. In service, keep the roof clear of debris around the window to prevent water pooling. Check the flashing annually, particularly after severe weather, to ensure no gaps or movement has occurred. If any cracks, gaps, or movement are visible, reseal or repair immediately to prevent water ingress.

Limitations and important notes
This kit is designed for standard pitched tile roofs and typical UK roof conditions. It is not suitable for non-standard roof pitches, flat roofs, or alternative roofing materials. The flashing is sized exclusively for PK08 format windows; using it with other window sizes will compromise the weather-tight seal and void performance guarantees. Installation must follow the included instructions and comply with Building Regulations. If your roof pitch or construction is non-standard, consult VELUX technical support before proceeding.
