How and where to use guide
VELUX Twin and Combination Flashings 134x140cm EKL UK08 S0222
Typical applications and installation
This flashing is used to seal the gap between a roof ventilation unit and the pitched roof surface, preventing water from entering the roof structure at the penetration point. It is installed around the ventilation opening before the roof covering is fitted, creating a secure barrier that directs water away from the opening. The flashing must be used on roofs with a pitch between 30° and 90° and is compatible only with timber grades F16 or higher, which provide the structural strength needed to support the flashing and ventilation unit safely.
- Install on pitched roofs between 30° and 90° only
- Use only with timber grades F16 or higher
- Position flashing around ventilation opening before roof covering is applied
- Ensure flashing is fully bedded and sealed to prevent water penetration
- Check that the 134x140cm size matches your ventilation opening dimensions
Weather resistance and durability
The plastic construction and rust-resistant coating make this flashing durable in exposed roof conditions. The material resists corrosion from rain, frost, and UV exposure, maintaining its weather-tight performance over time. The natural oak and grey finishes are designed to blend with typical roof aesthetics while providing the same protective function.
- Rust-resistant coating protects against corrosion in all weather conditions
- Plastic material resists frost damage and UV degradation
- Finishes are colour-matched to complement roof and ventilation appearance
- No painting or additional coating required on delivery
On-site handling and maintenance
Handle the flashing carefully during transport and storage to avoid damage to the plastic edges and coating. Store flat or upright in a dry location on site. Once installed, the flashing requires no routine maintenance beyond occasional inspection to ensure the seal remains intact and free from debris. Check around the flashing annually, particularly after severe weather, to confirm no water is entering the roof structure.
- Store in dry conditions away from direct sunlight before installation
- Inspect the seal annually for gaps, cracks, or water ingress signs
- Clear any debris or moss from around the flashing to maintain water drainage
- Do not use on roofs outside the 30° to 90° pitch range
- Do not install on timber grades below F16
