VELUX Twin and Combination Flashings 94x160cm EKN PK10 S0021E

Typical applications and compatibility

This twin and combination flashing is engineered specifically for use with VELUX roof window and Sun Tunnel systems on slate roofs. It is designed to accommodate the coupling of multiple roof windows or a combination of windows and tunnels in a single installation. The 940 x 1600mm dimensions suit standard roof pitches and layouts. Always verify that your VELUX roof window or Sun Tunnel model is compatible with the EKN PK10 S0021E before ordering, as flashing compatibility is critical to performance.

  • Use on slate roofs only where the 8mm recess depth matches your slate thickness
  • Suitable for new build and refurbishment projects
  • Compatible with VELUX roof window and Sun Tunnel systems
  • Ideal for installations requiring multiple coupled windows or mixed window and tunnel arrangements

Installation and on-site guidance

The recessed 8mm design requires careful positioning to ensure the flashing sits flush with the surrounding slate. The flashing must be installed before the roof window or Sun Tunnel unit is fitted, allowing the unit to be secured through the flashing into the roof structure. Ensure the roof opening is accurately sized and squared to the flashing dimensions. The weather-tight seal depends on correct alignment and secure fixing; follow VELUX installation instructions precisely and use all recommended fixings and sealants. Work from the bottom of the roof upwards, overlapping the flashing correctly with the slate courses above and below.

  • Install flashing before fitting the roof window or Sun Tunnel unit
  • Ensure the roof opening matches the 940 x 1600mm flashing dimensions
  • Position the flashing so the 8mm recess aligns with slate surface level
  • Secure all fixing points and apply recommended sealants to maintain weather-tightness
  • Overlap slate courses correctly to shed water downslope

Weather-tightness and maintenance

The flashing provides a professional, weather-tight seal when installed correctly. The recessed design and slate-compatible material work together to shed water effectively and prevent ingress into the roof structure. After installation, inspect the flashing periodically, particularly after severe weather, to ensure sealants remain intact and no debris has accumulated around the edges. Clear any moss, lichen, or leaves that could trap moisture. Check that the flashing remains flush with the slate and that no movement or gaps have developed.

  • Inspect sealants annually and reseal if cracks or gaps appear
  • Keep the flashing and surrounding slate clear of moss, lichen, and debris
  • Check for water ingress around the flashing after heavy rain or storms
  • Ensure the flashing remains flush with the slate surface over time

Limitations and important notes

This flashing is designed for slate roofs only and the 8mm recess depth is specific to standard slate thicknesses. It is not suitable for other roof coverings such as tiles or felt. The flashing must be used as part of a complete VELUX roof window or Sun Tunnel system; it cannot be used as a standalone product. Improper installation or use with incompatible roof window models will compromise the weather-tight seal and void performance guarantees. Always consult the VELUX technical documentation and installation guides for your specific roof window or Sun Tunnel model before commencing work.

  • For slate roofs only; not suitable for tiles, felt, or other coverings
  • Must be used with compatible VELUX roof window or Sun Tunnel systems
  • The 8mm recess is designed for standard slate thickness; verify compatibility with your roof
  • Improper installation will compromise weather-tightness and durability
