VELUX Twin and Combination Flashings 134x98cm EKN UK04 S0021E

Suitable applications and roof types

These flashings are designed specifically for VELUX rooflights and skylights, and are compatible with VELUX solar panel installations. They can be used on pitched roofs, flat roofs and vertical wall installations, making them suitable for a wide range of building configurations. The 134 x 98cm size accommodates standard VELUX window dimensions. Ensure the flashing size matches your specific VELUX product before ordering.

  • VELUX rooflights and skylights
  • VELUX solar panel installations
  • Pitched roof applications
  • Flat roof applications
  • Wall-mounted installations

Installation and sealing

The flashing must be installed around the perimeter of the VELUX window or panel to create a complete watertight seal. Position the flashing so it overlaps the roofing material or membrane beneath, directing water away from the window frame. On pitched roofs, ensure the upper edge of the flashing sits under the roof covering above the window. On flat roofs, the flashing should integrate with the roof membrane or covering system. All joints and edges must be sealed appropriately to prevent water penetration.

  • Install flashing around the complete perimeter of the window
  • Overlap roofing material to direct water away from the frame
  • On pitched roofs, position upper edge under roof covering
  • On flat roofs, integrate with membrane or covering system
  • Seal all joints and edges to prevent water ingress

Timber treatment and maintenance

The flashing is supplied with weather-resistant timber treatment to protect against moisture and external exposure. This treatment helps prevent rot and degradation when exposed to the elements. Inspect the flashing periodically, particularly after severe weather, to ensure the seal remains intact and the timber shows no signs of damage or deterioration. If the timber finish becomes worn or damaged, consider resealing or repainting to maintain weather protection.

  • Timber is pre-treated with weather-resistant finish
  • Inspect regularly for signs of damage or wear
  • Check seals after severe weather events
  • Reseal or repaint if finish becomes worn
  • Ensure no gaps develop around the window perimeter

On-site handling and compatibility

The flashing is available in multiple timber grades and finishes to suit different building specifications and aesthetic requirements. Confirm the timber grade and finish you require before installation. Handle the flashing carefully to avoid damage to the pre-treatment finish. Ensure compatibility with your specific VELUX window model and roofing system before commencing installation. If installing with solar panels, follow VELUX guidance for combined installations to maintain weathertightness.

  • Confirm timber grade and finish specification before use
  • Handle carefully to protect pre-treatment finish
  • Verify compatibility with your VELUX window model
  • Check roofing system compatibility
  • Follow VELUX guidance for solar panel installations
