Suitable applications and roof pitches
These flashings are designed specifically for timber frame roof openings on pitched roofs between 30 and 60 degrees. They are suitable for both domestic and commercial timber frame construction where a watertight seal is required at the frame-to-roof junction. The 78 x 140cm size accommodates roof openings up to 140cm in length. Always verify that your roof pitch falls within the 30–60 degree range before installation, as flashings outside this specification will not perform correctly.

Installation and on-site handling
Install these flashings during the roofing stage, positioning them around the timber frame opening before laying the final roofing material. The flashing must sit flush against the timber frame and extend sufficiently under and over the roofing material to create a complete watertight seal. Ensure the roof pitch is measured accurately before fitting. Handle the engineered plastic core and timber components carefully on site to avoid damage that could compromise the watertight seal. Position the flashing so water is directed away from the frame opening and towards the roof surface.

Periodically inspect the seal around the frame opening, particularly after severe weather, to ensure no water ingress has occurred. Keep guttering and downpipes clear to prevent water backing up and pooling around the flashing. If any damage to the plastic core or timber is noticed during inspection, address it promptly to maintain the watertight seal. Store flashings in a dry location on site before installation to prevent moisture absorption into the timber components.
