Suitable applications and roof types
These flashings are designed for pitched roofs up to a maximum pitch of 45 degrees. They provide a watertight seal around roof penetrations including skylights, roof windows, vents and chimneys. The flashings are suitable for both domestic and commercial roofing projects where SK06 window units are being installed or replaced. They protect against wind-driven rain and snow ingress at the point where the roof window or penetration meets the roof surface.

Installation and positioning
The flashing must be installed around the roof penetration before the final roof covering is applied. The 114 x 118cm size is specifically designed for SK06 windows. Position the flashing so that it sits flush against the roof surface and the penetration, ensuring all edges are properly sealed. The flashing should be integrated with the roof covering material, with tiles or slates overlapping the upper edge and the lower edge extending beneath the roof covering below the penetration. Ensure the flashing is level and secure before proceeding with roof covering installation.

Material properties and durability
The high-density polyethylene (HDPE) construction provides robust and durable protection against the elements. HDPE is resistant to UV degradation, temperature fluctuations and moisture ingress, making it suitable for long-term outdoor exposure. The material is flexible enough to accommodate minor roof movement whilst maintaining a watertight seal. These flashings require minimal ongoing maintenance once properly installed.

Limitations and important considerations
These flashings are specifically designed for SK06 window units and pitched roofs only. They are not suitable for roofs pitched steeper than 45 degrees or for flat roof applications. The flashing size of 114 x 118cm is fixed and cannot be trimmed or modified. Installation must follow the manufacturer's instructions to ensure the watertight seal is effective. Improper installation may result in water ingress and damage to the building structure.
