How and where to use guide

VELUX EDL PK25 2000 SLATE FLASHING INCL BDX 94 X 55

Typical applications

This flashing is designed for use in roofing and wall constructions where weather protection is essential. It performs best in pitched roof installations and is particularly suited to properties with slate tile roofing systems.

  • Chimney flashings and penetrations
  • Skylight and roof window surrounds
  • Roof valleys and internal angles
  • Wall-to-roof junctions
  • Applications up to 2m in height

Installation and securing

The flashing includes a BDX bracket which provides the primary fixing point for secure installation. Ensure the flashing is positioned correctly before securing, as it must create a watertight seal with adjacent roofing materials. The straightforward installation process means minimal on-site preparation is required, though careful alignment with existing slate tiles is essential for both weather protection and aesthetic finish.

  • Use the included BDX bracket to secure the flashing firmly in place
  • Position the flashing to overlap correctly with surrounding slate tiles
  • Ensure all joints are sealed to prevent water ingress
  • Check alignment before final fixing to maintain roof line consistency

Durability and maintenance

The slate finish provides excellent long-term durability and natural resistance to weathering. The VELUX Grade A specification ensures consistent quality and performance. Maintenance is minimal, though periodic inspection of joints and seals is recommended, particularly after severe weather or seasonal changes.

  • Inspect flashing annually for any movement or seal degradation
  • Clear debris from valleys and around the flashing to maintain water drainage
  • Check that the BDX bracket remains secure and shows no signs of corrosion
  • Repoint or reseal any joints that show signs of deterioration

Limitations and on-site considerations

This flashing is rated for applications up to 2m in height and is designed specifically for use with VELUX EDL PK25 2000 Slate Roofing Tiles. It is not suitable for applications exceeding the specified height limit or for use with incompatible roofing systems. Ensure the roof structure can support the flashing weight and that all fixing points are secure before installation.

  • Maximum application height is 2m
  • Use only with compatible VELUX EDL PK25 2000 Slate Roofing Tiles
  • Verify roof structure can support the flashing installation
  • Do not use in applications where height or load specifications are exceeded
