Typical applications
This flashing is used to seal the perimeter where wall tiles meet masonry, concrete, or rendered surfaces. Common applications include bathroom and kitchen walls, shower enclosures, external tile cladding, and commercial wet areas. It is suitable for both new installations and remedial work where existing tile-to-wall junctions require upgrading to prevent damp ingress.

Installation and usage
Prepare the wall surface by ensuring it is clean, dry, and free from dust, loose material, and old sealant. The substrate should be sound and stable. Apply the bitumen-based adhesive (BDX) to the back of the flashing according to the manufacturer's instructions, then press firmly into position at the tile-to-wall junction. Once the adhesive has set, apply the butyl rubber sealant (BFX) along the edges and seams to create a complete watertight barrier. Allow adequate curing time before exposing the installation to water. The 978 x 660mm size covers substantial wall areas; plan layout to minimise joints and ensure overlaps are sealed.
- Clean and dry the substrate thoroughly before application

- Press flashing firmly into position at the tile-to-wall junction
- Apply BFX butyl rubber sealant to all edges and seams
- Allow full curing time before water exposure

Limitations and maintenance
This product is designed for walls up to 2m high; do not use on taller installations without additional support or intermediate sealing. The flashing is intended for interior and exterior tile-to-wall junctions only and should not be used as a structural element or for applications outside its specified scope. Inspect periodically for signs of sealant degradation, particularly in high-moisture environments. If the BFX sealant becomes cracked or detached, clean the area and reapply sealant to maintain the watertight seal. Do not apply over wet or damp surfaces, and avoid installation in temperatures below 5°C unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise.

On-site tips
Measure and plan the layout before opening the product to minimise waste. Store the flashing and adhesive in dry conditions on site. When working in wet areas, ensure adequate ventilation during and after installation to allow proper curing of both adhesive and sealant. If joints between flashing sections are unavoidable, ensure they are sealed with additional BFX sealant to maintain continuity of the watertight barrier. In commercial kitchens and high-traffic wet areas, consider additional sealant application at stress points where movement or vibration may occur.
