How and where to use guide

EDWS FFK08 2000 Velux Profiled tile flashing, pro+ with BDX 2000,2in1,grey,127x140

Typical applications and installation

Use this flashing to seal around roof penetrations such as soil pipes, roof windows, or other protrusions that pass through profiled tile roofing. It is also suitable for wall cladding junctions where profiled tiles meet other building elements. The 2in1 design means the flashing and BDX 2000 membrane work as a single unit, reducing installation steps on site. Position the flashing over the tile profile, ensuring the membrane sits correctly beneath the upper tiles and above the lower tiles to direct water downslope. The compact 127 x 140mm size fits standard profiled tile profiles; always verify your specific tile profile dimensions against the product size before ordering to ensure proper fit and overlap.

  • Install on pitched roofs around penetrations such as pipes, vents, and roof windows
  • Use on wall cladding applications where profiled tiles meet other materials
  • Position the flashing to overlap upper tiles and sit above lower tiles for correct water run-off
  • Confirm tile profile dimensions match the 127 x 140mm flashing size for your project

On-site handling and adjustment

The 2in1 design allows for minor adjustment of the flashing position before final fixing, which is useful when tile profiles vary slightly or when precise alignment is needed around the penetration. Handle the plastic flashing carefully to avoid cracking or distorting the membrane. The BDX 2000 membrane is integral to the unit, so do not attempt to separate or replace it. Ensure the membrane sits flat and wrinkle-free beneath the upper tiles to maintain the watertight seal. Grey colouring means the flashing will blend with most standard roofing materials, reducing visual impact.

  • Allow for minor on-site adjustment before final fixing
  • Handle carefully to avoid damage to the plastic or integrated membrane
  • Ensure the BDX 2000 membrane sits flat and wrinkle-free under upper tiles
  • Grey colour provides a discreet finish on most roofing and cladding

Limitations and maintenance

This flashing is engineered specifically for profiled tile applications; do not use on flat roofing or with incompatible tile profiles. The integrated BDX 2000 membrane cannot be replaced separately, so if the membrane is damaged during installation or use, the entire flashing unit must be replaced. After installation, inspect the flashing periodically to ensure the membrane remains in contact with the tile profile and that no gaps or lifting has occurred, particularly after severe weather. Keep the area around the flashing clear of debris and moss to maintain water run-off. Always follow current site practice and Velux manufacturer guidance for your specific roofing system.

  • Use only on profiled tile roofing and wall cladding; not suitable for flat roofs
  • Do not attempt to repair or replace the integrated BDX 2000 membrane
  • Inspect periodically to ensure the membrane remains in contact with the tile profile
  • Keep the flashing area clear of debris and moss to maintain water drainage
