VELUX EDW SK01 2000 Pro+ Standard Flashings W/ Installation Products 114x70cm

Suitable applications and roof types

These flashings are designed for pitched roof installations where the VELUX EDW SK01 2000 Pro+ skylight is being fitted into timber-framed roof structures. They are suitable for use on roofs with a pitch of up to 30 degrees. The flashings work with timber grades F16, F24, F32 and F36, covering standard structural timber specifications used in UK domestic and commercial building. Installation is appropriate for both new-build and retrofit skylight projects where weather protection around the aperture is critical.

  • Pitched roofs up to 30 degrees maximum angle
  • Timber grades F16, F24, F32 and F36 compatible
  • Domestic and commercial properties
  • New installations and retrofit projects

Installation and fitting

The flashings must be installed around the skylight aperture before the roof covering (tiles, slates or other weathering material) is fitted. The 114 x 70cm dimensions are matched to the VELUX EDW SK01 2000 Pro+ skylight frame, ensuring proper alignment with the aperture. Installation products are included with the flashings to support a complete weather-tight seal. Ensure the flashing sits flush against the timber frame and that all edges are properly secured before roof covering is applied. The PVC material requires no special tools beyond standard roofing equipment.

  • Install flashings before roof covering is applied
  • Align 114 x 70cm flashing with skylight aperture
  • Use included installation products for weather-tight seal
  • Ensure flashing sits flush against timber frame
  • Secure all edges before applying roof tiles or slates

Maintenance and durability

The durable PVC construction of these flashings provides long-term weather protection with minimal maintenance required. Periodically inspect the flashing seal, particularly after severe weather, to ensure no water ingress around the skylight aperture. Check that the flashing remains securely fixed and that any sealant or installation products have not deteriorated. PVC flashings are resistant to UV damage and do not require painting or treating, though they should be kept clear of debris and moss growth which can trap moisture.

  • Inspect flashing seal regularly for signs of water ingress
  • Check security of flashing after severe weather
  • Keep clear of debris, moss and algae growth
  • No painting or chemical treatment required
  • PVC construction resists UV damage and weathering

Important limitations and considerations

These flashings are designed specifically for the VELUX EDW SK01 2000 Pro+ skylight and must not be used with other skylight models. The maximum roof pitch of 30 degrees must be observed; steeper pitches require alternative flashing solutions. The flashings are suitable only for timber-framed roofs of the specified grades. Installation on flat roofs, roofs exceeding 30 degrees pitch, or with incompatible timber grades will compromise the weather-tight seal and may lead to water ingress and structural damage.

  • Compatible only with VELUX EDW SK01 2000 Pro+ skylights
  • Maximum roof pitch 30 degrees only
  • Timber grades F16, F24, F32, F36 only
  • Not suitable for flat roofs or steep pitches above 30 degrees
