Size, compatibility and pre-installation checks

The door measures 1981 x 610 mm (height x width) and is designed to fit standard UK internal door frames. Before ordering, measure your opening height and width to confirm this size suits your space. Check that your frame is square and level using a spirit level; out-of-square frames may require additional trimming or packing. Verify that your hinges, locks, and handles are compatible with a 35 mm thick door. Allow the door to acclimatise to your building's humidity for 24 to 48 hours before installation to minimise movement after hanging.

Trimming and preparation

The lipped long edges allow you to trim the door width on site to fit non-standard openings. Use a fine-toothed saw or circular saw to cut the door cleanly, and sand the cut edge smooth before finishing. The unlacquered veneer faces accept paint, stain, or primer directly; no sanding or sealing is required before decoration. Ensure all cut edges and the back face are sealed with primer or paint to prevent moisture ingress and warping.

Pack contents and what to check on delivery

You receive one internal door, 1981 x 610 mm, unfinished and unglazed. Inspect the door for damage, warping, or dents on arrival. Check that the veneer faces are intact and free from splits. Store the door flat or upright in a dry, well-ventilated space away from direct heat or sunlight until installation. Do not expose the unfinished door to moisture or damp conditions, as this may cause swelling or staining of the veneer.
