Size, compatibility and pack contents
This door is supplied at 1981 x 686 x 44mm. The 44mm thickness is standard for fire-rated internal doors and ensures proper performance. The door is lipped on both long edges, which aids installation and provides a neat finished appearance. You will receive one unfinished door. Ensure your frame opening matches these dimensions, or plan trimming if necessary. Check that your hinges, locks, and hardware are compatible with a 44mm thick door and that your frame is suitable for FD30 specification doors.

- Lipped on two long edges for easy installation
- Single door supplied unfinished
- Confirm frame opening size before purchase
Preparation and installation
Before installation, inspect the door for any damage in transit. The door is trimmable, so if your opening is slightly smaller, you can plane or sand the edges carefully. However, do not trim the thickness or compromise the fire-rated core. The unlacquered veneer surface must be prepared before finishing: lightly sand with fine abrasive paper to key the surface, then apply primer and paint as required. Ensure the frame is square, level, and properly prepared. Install hinges, locks, and hardware according to manufacturer instructions and building regulations. Allow adequate drying time between primer and paint coats.
- Inspect door on delivery for transit damage
- Door is trimmable on edges for refurbishment projects
- Do not trim the core thickness
- Sand veneer lightly before priming and painting
- Ensure frame is square and level before hanging
- Install hardware to manufacturer and building regulation standards
Pre-installation checks
Verify that your building regulations require FD30 performance and that this door meets those requirements. Check that the frame is the correct size and specification for a fire-rated door. Confirm that hinges, locks, and door closers are fire-rated and compatible with 44mm thickness. Ensure the frame is properly prepared, square, and level. Check that you have adequate workspace and tools for installation, including a spirit level, drill, saw (if trimming is needed), and appropriate fasteners. Allow the door to acclimatise to the room environment for 24 hours before installation if it has been stored in different conditions.
