Fixing and buying guide
Premdor 35mm door. Paint Grade Premium, 1981 x 762 mm.
What this door is for
This is an internal paint grade door designed for practical applications where cost matters and you are happy to finish the door yourself. It works well for new builds, renovations, and refurbishment projects. The trimmable design makes it flexible for non-standard openings or where existing frames need adjustment. It is not suitable for external use or high-moisture areas such as bathrooms without additional protection.
- Internal applications only
- Suitable for new builds and refurbishment
- Trimmable for non-standard openings
- Requires your own paint or stain finish
Sizing and compatibility
This door measures 1981 x 762 mm (height x width), which is a standard UK internal door size. Before ordering, measure your existing door frame opening to confirm it will fit. The door is trimmable, so if your opening is slightly smaller in width or height, you can plane or saw it down to size. However, you cannot add material, so the opening must not be larger than the door dimensions. Check that your frame is square and level before installation, as this affects how well the door hangs.

What you get and pre-installation checks
You receive one unfinished internal door with unlacquered veneer faces and lipped edges on both long sides. The lipping helps with alignment during hanging. The door arrives unfinished, so you must sand, prime, and paint or stain it before hanging. Inspect the door on delivery for any damage to the veneer or edges. Store it flat in a dry location and allow it to acclimatise to your home for 48 hours before installation, as this helps prevent warping.

Preparation and finishing
Before hanging, the door must be finished. Sand the veneer faces lightly with fine-grit sandpaper to key the surface, then apply a primer suitable for timber. Once dry, apply your chosen paint system or wood stain. Pay attention to the edges and lippings to ensure even coverage. If you plan to trim the door, do this before finishing to avoid exposing raw timber. Allow all finishes to dry fully before handling or hanging the door.

- Apply timber primer to all surfaces
- Paint or stain as required
- Trim before finishing if needed
