Description

Thistle Bonding Coat is a lightweight, retarded hemihydrate gypsum plaster supplied as a pre-mixed powder incorporating exfoliated vermiculite aggregate. It is formulated specifically for application to smooth or low-suction backgrounds such as concrete, ceramic tiling, plasterboard and surfaces treated with Thistle Bond-it primer. The fine aggregate mix ensures excellent workability, allowing the material to be spread, ruled and finished with a Darby without excessive effort or drag, reducing fatigue during application and improving surface quality.

The product requires only the addition of clean water to achieve working consistency. Once applied and set, Bonding Coat provides a smooth, inert substrate with controlled suction, ready to receive any Thistle finish plaster or decorative coating. This makes it an essential base layer for achieving durable, high-quality internal wall and ceiling finishes in both new construction and refurbishment projects.
