Product specifications and contents
Each board measures 1200 x 800 x 6mm thick. The EZ Grid surface features a printed grid pattern to assist with layout and cutting. The board is fully non-combustible with an A1 fire rating. It is lightweight and easy to cut with standard tools, making it straightforward to handle and install on site.

Compatibility and preparation
Hardie Backer EZ Grid is compatible with standard tile adhesives and grouts. Before installation, ensure the substrate (wall or floor) is structurally sound, level and secure. The board should be fixed to timber or metal studs using corrosion-resistant fasteners appropriate to your substrate. Allow adequate support spacing according to the board thickness and load requirements. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during and after installation.

Installation and finishing
Cut the board using a fine-toothed saw or specialist fibre cement cutter. The printed EZ Grid helps guide straight cuts and layout. Once fixed securely, apply tile adhesive directly to the board surface and proceed with tiling as normal. The smooth, stable surface ensures precise detailing and strong adhesion for both standard and large-format tiles.
