How and where to use guide

Mannok Master Grade Cement 25Kg General Purpose 32.5N Cement in Weatherproof Plastic bag

Typical applications

Mannok General Purpose Cement is formulated for use across a broad range of building work. Use it as the cement component when mixing concrete for foundations, bases and structural elements. Mix it into mortar for brickwork, blockwork and general masonry repairs. Combine it with sand and water for plastering and render applications on internal and external surfaces. It is also suitable for screeding applications where you need a reliable cement binder.

  • Concrete production for structural and non-structural work
  • Mortar for masonry and brickwork
  • Plaster and render mixes
  • Screeding and floor preparation
  • General repairs and maintenance work

Storage and site handling

The weatherproof plastic bag provides effective protection against moisture and weather on site. Store bags in a dry location, ideally under cover or on pallets away from direct contact with damp ground. Keep bags away from areas prone to water ingress or high humidity. Check bags for damage before use; do not use cement from torn or compromised packaging as moisture ingress will degrade the product. Rotate stock using older bags first to maintain freshness.

  • Store under cover on level ground or pallets
  • Keep away from damp surfaces and water sources
  • Inspect bags for damage before opening
  • Use within recommended shelf life for best performance
  • Protect from rain and condensation during storage

Mixing and usage guidance

Always follow the specific mix ratios for your intended application. For concrete, typical ratios vary depending on strength requirements; for general purpose mortar, use standard 1:3 or 1:4 cement to sand ratios depending on the application. Add clean water gradually whilst mixing until you achieve the correct consistency. Mix only the quantity you can use within the working time available. Use a mechanical mixer for larger batches to ensure thorough blending and consistent quality. Ensure all aggregates and sand are clean and free from contaminants.

  • Follow correct mix ratios for your specific application
  • Use clean sand and aggregates
  • Add water gradually to achieve correct consistency
  • Mix only quantities you can use within working time
  • Use mechanical mixing for larger batches

Limitations and best practice

Mannok General Purpose Cement is a CEM II product suitable for most standard building applications. For specialist applications requiring high early strength, sulphate resistance or other specific performance characteristics, consult technical guidance or consider alternative cement types. Do not use in applications below freezing point or in extreme weather conditions. Allow adequate curing time before applying loads or further work. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves and eye protection when handling dry cement, as it is caustic.

  • Wear gloves and eye protection when handling
  • Do not apply in freezing conditions
  • Allow adequate curing time before loading
  • Not suitable for specialist high-performance applications
  • Consult technical data for specific strength requirements
