Fixing and buying guide
32MM X 38MM X 2100MM (25 x 32mm)Redwood 5th PSE Firecheck Door stop
What this product is and who it is for
A door stop is a timber moulding fixed to the door frame to provide a stop point for the door leaf and create a seal around the frame perimeter. This Firecheck variant is specifically engineered to contribute to fire safety performance in internal doorways. It is suitable for trade installers, builders and serious DIY customers undertaking door frame installation, replacement or repair work where fire-rated performance is a project requirement.
Dimensions, sizing and pack contents
This product is supplied as a single length of 2100mm. The finished face dimensions are 25 x 32mm (nominal size 32 x 38mm). Measure your door frame perimeter carefully and plan your cuts and joints before purchase. You will typically need four lengths per standard doorway (top and both sides), so calculate your total linear metres and order accordingly. Check that 2100mm lengths suit your frame heights; shorter frames may require cutting to length.

- Finished face: 25 x 32mm
- Nominal size: 32 x 38mm

Compatibility and pre-installation checks
Confirm that redwood timber and the Firecheck specification are compatible with your door frame material and fire safety requirements. Check that your frame is square and true before fixing; any twist or bow in the frame will affect door stop fit and door operation. Verify that the finished face dimensions (25 x 32mm) are suitable for your frame rebate or fixing method. Allow the timber to acclimatise to site conditions for 48 hours before installation to minimise movement after fixing.
- Confirm fire rating requirement matches Firecheck specification
- Check frame is square, level and true
- Verify frame rebate or fixing surface accepts 25 x 32mm face
- Allow timber acclimatisation time on site before fixing
- Inspect for damage or defects on delivery
Fixing and installation
Door stops are typically fixed to the frame jambs and head using lost-head nails or screws, set flush or slightly recessed. Position the stop to allow the door leaf to close properly and create an even seal around the frame. Use a spirit level to ensure stops are plumb and level. Pre-drill screw holes to avoid splitting the timber. Fill any nail holes or recesses with appropriate filler if a finished appearance is required. Sand lightly if needed before decoration.
