Siniat Fire Plasterboard 1800mm x 900mm x 12.5mm SE

What this product is for

This is a fire-resistant plasterboard for non-loadbearing internal partitions, wall linings and ceiling systems. It is not a structural board and must be fixed to a suitable timber or metal stud frame. Use it where building regulations require fire resistance—typically 30 to 60 minutes depending on your system design and local requirements. It is not suitable for external use or wet areas.

  • Fire-rated stud partition walls
  • Internal wall linings over existing structures
  • Ceiling systems requiring fire performance
  • Compartmentation and escape route walls

Compatibility and system design

This board is designed to work with metal stud framing systems and timber stud frames. To achieve the stated 60 minutes fire resistance, you must use a 15mm metal stud non-loadbearing partition system as specified. Fire performance depends on correct installation, frame spacing, joint treatment and the complete system specification. Always check your building control requirements and consult Siniat technical data or your architect if you are designing a bespoke system. Do not assume performance from this board alone—the entire partition assembly must be tested and certified.

  • Compatible with metal stud and timber frame systems
  • 60 minutes fire resistance achieved with 15mm metal stud non-loadbearing partitions
  • Performance is system-dependent; frame spacing and joint finish are critical
  • Verify your complete assembly against building regulations before installation

Pack contents and sizing

Each board measures 1800mm x 900mm x 12.5mm. This is a standard trade size. Check your wall or ceiling dimensions and calculate the number of boards needed, accounting for cutting and waste. Boards are typically delivered flat on pallets; handle carefully to avoid edge damage, which can affect fire performance and finish quality.

  • Single board: 1800mm length x 900mm width x 12.5mm thickness
  • Standard trade format for stud spacing of 400mm, 450mm or 600mm centres
  • Order by the board or by pallet quantity as needed

Pre-installation checks and fixing

Before fixing, inspect boards for damage and ensure your stud frame is square, level and at the correct spacing for your fire-rated system design. Boards must be fixed with the correct fastener type and spacing as specified in your system documentation—typically drywall screws or nails at defined centres. Ensure all joints are taped and filled with fire-rated joint compound to maintain fire performance. Do not cut or drill boards unnecessarily; if you must cut, use a sharp saw and wear a dust mask. Store boards flat and dry on site. Allow boards to acclimatise to site conditions before fixing.

  • Check frame is square, level and at correct stud spacing
  • Use fasteners and spacing specified for your fire-rated system
  • Tape and fill all joints with fire-rated joint compound
  • Protect boards from moisture and physical damage during storage and installation
