Installation and fixing
Install sheets vertically or horizontally depending on your partition layout, ensuring joints are staggered between layers for maximum fire performance. Fix to metal or timber studs using appropriate fixings at 150mm centres around perimeters and 300mm centres across intermediate studs. For optimal fire resistance, follow the tested system specification for your application, particularly regarding layer thickness and joint treatment. Square edge sheets require joint taping and finishing with fire-rated joint compounds to achieve rated performance.

A single 15mm layer in a metal stud partition system achieves 60 minutes fire resistance. However, the 12.5mm thickness of this product means you must verify the specific system design for your application to confirm it meets your required fire rating. This product is not suitable for loadbearing applications and does not provide structural support.

On-site handling and storage
Store sheets flat in a dry location protected from weather and moisture. Handle carefully to avoid damage to edges and corners, which could compromise fire performance if not properly repaired. Keep sheets away from damp areas and ensure adequate ventilation during storage. On site, protect sheets from rain and condensation until installation is complete, as moisture absorption can affect performance and workability.
