Typical applications
This board is suitable for a range of internal construction tasks. Use it for stud partition walls in homes, offices and commercial spaces where a standard fire and acoustic performance is required. It works well for lining existing masonry walls to create a flat, finished surface ready for decoration. Ceiling applications include suspended ceilings and direct fixing to joists in domestic properties and light commercial buildings.

Installation and fixing
Fix the board to timber studs or joists using galvanised or drywall screws at 300mm centres, or drywall nails if preferred. Position screws or nails at least 10mm from the square edge to avoid damage. Stagger joints between adjacent sheets and ensure studs or joists are at standard 400mm or 600mm centres for proper support. Leave a small gap at floor and ceiling level to allow for building movement. For ceiling work, use appropriate temporary support or a lifting frame to hold the board in place during fixing.

Finishing the square edge
The square edge profile must be finished before decoration. For a taped and jointed finish, apply joint tape over the seams and cover with joint compound in multiple coats, sanding between coats to achieve a smooth surface. Alternatively, apply a full skim coat of finishing plaster across the entire board surface for a more uniform finish. Both methods require skill and experience to achieve a professional result suitable for painting or wallpapering.

On-site handling and storage
Store boards flat and horizontal on a level, dry surface away from damp and direct weather exposure. Keep them indoors or under cover before installation. Handle carefully to avoid damage to edges and corners, as damaged areas are difficult to repair invisibly. Transport boards flat to prevent bending or warping. On site, keep the board dry and allow it to acclimatise to the building environment before fixing, particularly in newly plastered or damp buildings.
