What this product is for
This adhesive is designed for two main applications: bonding plasterboard directly to existing masonry walls without mechanical fixings, and securing Siniat Metal Furring Wall Channels to masonry before boarding. It is ideal for internal wall linings, partition systems, and remedial boarding work where you need a strong, permanent bond to brick, block, or concrete substrates. The dab application method makes it particularly useful on site where flexibility and ease of adjustment are important during installation.

Substrate compatibility and pre-installation checks
This adhesive bonds to the majority of masonry backgrounds, including brick, concrete block, and rendered surfaces. Before application, inspect the wall for loose material, dust, algae, or paint that may prevent adhesion. Damp-proof membranes and impermeable surfaces such as gloss paint or ceramic tiles are not suitable. The wall should be structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of plasterboard. Check that the background is reasonably flat; the adhesive can accommodate nominal irregularities and service runs up to 25mm deep, but excessive hollows or protrusions will require filling or levelling first.

Pack contents and coverage
Each bag contains 25kg of gypsum-based adhesive supplied in convenient dab form. The actual coverage will depend on wall condition, board size, and application method. Dabs are positioned at regular intervals across the back of the plasterboard or on the wall surface, then the board is pressed firmly into place. Ensure you have sufficient bags on site for your project; calculate coverage based on wall area and the spacing of dabs recommended for your board thickness and wall condition.

Application and site handling
The adhesive is easy to mix and apply on site. Position dabs on the wall or back of the plasterboard at regular intervals, then press the board firmly into place. The dab form allows you to adjust board position before the adhesive sets, ensuring accurate alignment and a flush finish. Work methodically across the wall, checking plumb and level as you progress. Allow adequate curing time before applying joint compound or decoration; follow the manufacturer's instructions for curing times, which may vary depending on temperature and humidity on site. Store bags in a dry location and protect from moisture during transport and on site.
