Siniat Universal Bonding Drywall Adhesive 25Kg Bag

Primary applications

This adhesive is primarily used for direct bonding of plasterboard sheets to masonry walls, including brick, block, and concrete substrates. It is also suitable for bonding Siniat Metal Furring Wall Channels to walls, providing a secure fixing without the need for drilling and plugging. The product works well on walls with nominal surface irregularities, reducing the need for extensive wall preparation.

  • Direct plasterboard bonding to masonry walls
  • Fixing Siniat Metal Furring Wall Channels
  • Suitable for brick, block, and concrete substrates
  • Ideal for refurbishment and new build applications

Application and mixing

The adhesive is supplied as a dry powder in 25kg bags and is easy to mix on site. Mix to a thick, creamy consistency suitable for dabbing application. Apply adhesive dabs directly to the wall or to the back of plasterboard sheets, spacing them appropriately to support the board weight. The dab method allows for quick application and provides adjustment time during boarding, enabling you to level and plumb sheets as you work.

  • Mix to a thick, creamy consistency
  • Apply as dabs to wall or board back
  • Allows adjustment during installation
  • Quick application reduces labour time

Substrate and background considerations

The adhesive bonds effectively to the majority of masonry substrates commonly found on UK building sites. It is capable of accommodating nominal background irregularities, meaning minor unevenness in the wall surface does not require filling or extensive preparation. The product can also accommodate shallow service runs between 10mm and 25mm deep, allowing for pipes and cables to be run behind the plasterboard without additional furring or battens.

  • Bonds to brick, block, and concrete
  • Tolerates minor wall surface irregularities
  • Accommodates service runs 10-25mm deep
  • Reduces need for wall preparation

On-site tips and limitations

Ensure the masonry substrate is clean and free from loose material, dust, and algae before application. Do not apply to frozen surfaces or in freezing conditions. Allow adequate curing time before applying finishes or loading the plasterboard. The adhesive is not suitable for external applications or for use on substrates prone to movement. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing ratios and application rates to ensure optimal bond strength.

  • Clean substrate thoroughly before application
  • Avoid application in freezing conditions
  • Allow full cure before finishing
  • Not suitable for external use
  • Not recommended for high-movement substrates
