How and where to use guide

Siniat Universal Bonding Drywall Adhesive 25Kg Bag

Typical applications

Use this adhesive for direct plasterboard bonding to solid masonry walls, including brick, blockwork, and concrete. It is also suitable for securing Siniat Metal Furring Wall Channels to masonry before boarding. Common applications include internal wall linings, partition upgrades, and remedial boarding work where traditional stud framing is not required.

  • Direct plasterboard bonding to brick, block, or concrete masonry
  • Securing metal furring channels to masonry substrates
  • Internal wall lining and partition work
  • Accommodating service runs (pipes, cables) up to 25mm depth

Preparation and application

Prepare the masonry surface by removing loose material, dust, and debris. The wall should be sound and reasonably dry. Mix the adhesive according to manufacturer instructions to achieve a workable consistency. Apply the adhesive in dabs directly to the back of the plasterboard or to the masonry surface using a trowel or comb. Space dabs at approximately 300mm centres vertically and horizontally. Position the board and adjust as needed before the adhesive sets. Press firmly to ensure good contact and remove excess adhesive from joints.

  • Clean masonry surface of dust, loose material, and contaminants
  • Apply adhesive in dabs at 300mm centres
  • Position and adjust plasterboard before adhesive sets
  • Press firmly for full contact across the board face
  • Allow adequate curing time before decorating or further work

Substrate compatibility and limitations

This adhesive bonds effectively to the majority of masonry backgrounds including brick, blockwork, and concrete. However, always check that the substrate is sound and not subject to rising damp or excessive moisture. Do not apply to painted, glazed, or heavily contaminated surfaces without appropriate preparation. The product accommodates background irregularities and service runs up to 25mm; deeper voids or severely uneven walls may require furring out or alternative methods.

  • Compatible with brick, block, and concrete masonry
  • Substrate must be sound, dry, and free from contaminants
  • Not suitable for damp walls or rising damp conditions
  • Remove paint or glazing from substrate before application
  • Maximum service run accommodation is 25mm depth

On-site handling and storage

Store the 25kg bag in a dry location protected from moisture and weather. Once opened, use the product within the recommended timeframe to prevent deterioration. Mix only the quantity needed for immediate use. On cold or damp days, allow extended curing time before applying subsequent coats or finishing. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and curing. Clean tools and equipment promptly with water before the adhesive hardens.

  • Store in dry conditions away from moisture
  • Mix only what is needed for immediate application
  • Allow extended curing in cold or damp conditions
  • Clean tools with water before adhesive sets
  • Ensure adequate site ventilation during use
