Ecotherm Rigid PIR Insulation 1200 x 2400 x 70mm

Who this product is for

This rigid PIR board suits builders, contractors and serious DIY installers working on insulation projects where lightweight handling and reliable thermal performance are priorities. It is suitable for new build construction, refurbishment of existing buildings and retrofit insulation upgrades across residential and light commercial applications.

Compatibility and applications

The 70mm thickness and foil facing make this board compatible with floor, wall and roof insulation systems. The lightweight rigid foam properties allow installation between joists, studs and rafters without additional support in typical applications. Check your building regulations and design specification to confirm 70mm thickness meets your required U-value and thermal performance targets for your specific application.

  • Suitable for timber and steel frame construction
  • Compatible with standard fixing methods to masonry, timber and metal substrates
  • Foil facing provides vapour control on both sides
  • Compressive strength of 175 kPa supports typical floor and roof loads

What you receive and pre-installation checks

Each pack contains one board at 1200 x 2400 x 70mm. Before installation, inspect the board for damage to the foil facing and check that the board dimensions fit your cavity or application space. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry and structurally sound. Confirm that foil-faced boards are appropriate for your vapour control strategy and that any required air gaps or ventilation are maintained according to your building design.

  • Board area per unit: 2.88 m²
  • Foil-faced both sides for vapour control
  • Check substrate is dry and stable before fixing
  • Verify cavity dimensions accommodate 70mm thickness plus any required air gaps

Fixing and installation

The foil facing allows straightforward mechanical fixing using standard fixings appropriate to your substrate. Boards should be fitted tightly together to minimise thermal bridging. Ensure all joints are sealed or taped where vapour control is required. Follow your building control and design specification for fixing centres, support requirements and any additional membrane or tape details around edges and penetrations.
