Ecotherm Rigid PIR Insulation 1200 x 2400 x 90mm

What this product is and who it is for

This is a rigid foam insulation board manufactured from polyisocyanurate (PIR), a closed-cell foam material that provides excellent thermal performance in a lightweight format. It is designed for builders, contractors and serious DIY customers undertaking thermal insulation work in residential and commercial buildings. The product is particularly suited to projects where consistent thermal performance, ease of installation and reduced labour time are priorities. BBA backing provides specification confidence for projects requiring certified insulation materials.

Compatibility and applications

The board is suitable for use in wall, floor and roof insulation applications across new build and retrofit projects. The 90mm thickness and compressive strength of 175 kPa make it appropriate for load-bearing applications. Before specifying, confirm compatibility with your building design, local building regulations, and any specific performance requirements for your application. Check that the thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK meets your project's U-value targets.

Board dimensions and pack contents

Each board measures 1200 x 2400 x 90mm. Confirm the number of boards required for your project by calculating total insulation area and accounting for waste and edge cuts. Check delivery arrangements, as boards of this size require appropriate handling and storage space on site.

  • Board size: 1200 x 2400 x 90mm
  • Material: Rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam
  • Thermal conductivity: 0.022 W/mK
  • Compressive strength: 175 kPa
  • Lightweight format reduces handling demands

Pre-installation checks and preparation

Before fixing, inspect boards for damage in transit and store in dry conditions. Ensure the substrate (wall, floor or roof structure) is clean, dry and level to allow full board contact and effective thermal performance. Confirm fixing method with your specification or building control requirements, as PIR boards are typically mechanically fixed or adhered depending on application. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when cutting or handling boards.

  • Check boards are undamaged and stored dry on site
  • Prepare substrate: clean, dry and level
  • Confirm fixing method meets project specification
  • Plan cuts and waste allowance before installation begins
