IKO Enertherm ALU Full Fill Cavity Wall Insulation 90mm x 1200mm x 450mm

What this product is for

This insulation board is specifically designed for full fill cavity wall applications in masonry construction. It provides high thermal resistance whilst the aluminium cladding acts as a low emissivity reflective barrier. The product maintains a residual 10mm cavity behind the board to allow moisture to drain and resist water transfer into the building fabric, which is essential for long-term wall integrity.

  • Full fill cavity wall insulation for masonry construction
  • Rigid polyisocyanurate foam core for structural stability
  • Aluminium composite facing on both sides with low emissivity properties
  • Tongue and Groove edges for secure board-to-board connection
  • Maintains 10mm residual cavity for moisture management

Sizing and coverage

Each board is 90mm thick, 1200mm wide and 450mm long. The 90mm thickness is the standard full fill depth for typical masonry cavity widths when combined with the residual 10mm air gap. Calculate your wall area in square metres and divide by the board area (1.2m x 0.45m = 0.54 square metres per board) to determine quantity required. Order slightly extra to account for cutting around openings, services and edge trimming.

  • Board dimensions: 90mm thick x 1200mm x 450mm
  • Coverage per board: 0.54 square metres
  • Suitable for cavities requiring full fill insulation with 10mm residual gap
  • Add 5-10% extra boards for waste and cutting around openings

Installation and compatibility

Boards are installed vertically within the cavity, stacked with Tongue and Groove edges interlocked for a continuous thermal barrier. The aluminium cladding faces inward and outward to provide reflective properties. Installation must maintain the critical 10mm residual cavity behind the board to allow any moisture ingress to drain downward. Boards should be supported on cavity wall ties or battens and secured according to building regulations and the cavity width. Ensure the cavity is clean and free from debris before installation begins.

  • Install with Tongue and Groove edges interlocked for continuity
  • Maintain 10mm residual cavity behind the board for moisture drainage
  • Secure boards using appropriate cavity wall fixings or support battens
  • Ensure cavity is clean and free from mortar droppings before installation
  • Follow building regulations for cavity wall insulation in your region

Pre-installation checks

Before ordering and installing, confirm your cavity width can accommodate the 90mm board plus the required 10mm residual gap. Check that your masonry cavity is sound with no significant cracks or water ingress issues, as insulation will seal the cavity and any existing moisture problems may worsen. Verify that your building design and local building regulations permit full fill cavity insulation. Inspect the cavity for debris, mortar droppings and any obstructions that must be cleared. Ensure you have appropriate fixings and support systems specified for your cavity width and wall construction type.

  • Confirm cavity width is suitable for 90mm board plus 10mm residual gap
  • Check cavity is structurally sound with no active moisture problems
  • Verify compliance with current building regulations for your region
  • Clear cavity of debris, mortar droppings and obstructions
  • Source appropriate fixings and support systems before installation
