Gtec Siniat Moisture Plasterboard 2400mm x 1200mm x 15mm TE (50)

What this product is for

Moisture plasterboard is engineered for internal walls and ceilings in rooms where humidity levels are consistently high or where water splash is likely. The moisture resistant additives prevent the board from absorbing excess moisture, which helps reduce the risk of mould growth, paper degradation and structural damage that can occur with standard plasterboard in wet conditions. It is not a waterproof barrier and should always be used alongside appropriate ventilation and surface finishes.

  • Bathrooms and en-suites
  • Kitchens and utility rooms
  • Shower enclosures and wet rooms
  • Any internal area with high humidity or condensation risk

Sizing and pack contents

Each board is 2400mm long by 1200mm wide by 15mm thick. The 15mm thickness is suitable for standard stud spacing of 600mm centres on walls and ceiling joists. This pack contains 50 sheets, giving a total coverage of 144 square metres. Calculate your room dimensions and account for waste and offcuts before ordering.

  • Single sheet area: 2.88 square metres
  • Pack total: 144 square metres
  • Thickness: 15mm (standard for residential applications)
  • Suitable for 600mm stud and joist centres

Compatibility and fixing

Moisture plasterboard is fixed using the same methods as standard plasterboard. It can be screwed or nailed to timber studs, joists and noggins, or bonded to solid backgrounds with plasterboard adhesive. Ensure your framing is sound, dry and properly spaced before installation. The board can be taped, jointed and finished with standard joint compounds, though moisture resistant joint tape and compounds are recommended in high-humidity areas for best results.

  • Compatible with standard timber frame construction
  • Use drywall screws or galvanised nails for fixing
  • Can be bonded to solid walls with plasterboard adhesive
  • Finish with standard or moisture resistant joint compounds

Pre-installation checks

Before fixing, ensure the building structure is weathertight and any damp issues are resolved. Moisture plasterboard works best when combined with good ventilation and appropriate surface finishes such as moisture resistant paint or tiles. Check that your timber framing is not wet or freshly treated, as the board should be installed once the structure has stabilised. Store boards flat and dry on site, and allow them to acclimatise to room temperature and humidity before fixing.

  • Verify the building envelope is weathertight
  • Confirm adequate ventilation is in place
  • Check timber framing is dry and stable
  • Store boards flat in dry conditions before use
