Chamfered and Rounded Primed Moisture Resistant MDF Profile 5.49 Mtr 18mm x 97mm

What this product is and who it is for

This is a decorative MDF profile moulding suitable for carpenters, builders, and DIY enthusiasts looking to add professional trim detailing to interior projects. The 97mm width and chamfered rounded profile make it ideal for feature work around doorways, shelving edges, and wall panelling. The moisture-resistant primed coating means it can be used in areas with moderate humidity exposure, such as kitchens and bathrooms, though it is not suitable for external use or areas of persistent dampness.

  • Chamfered and rounded edges for a smooth, finished appearance
  • Pre-primed coating reduces preparation time on site
  • Moisture-resistant treatment protects against humidity
  • MDF material is stable, easy to cut, and straightforward to install

Sizing and pack contents

This product is supplied as a single length of 5.49 metres. The profile measures 18mm thick by 97mm wide, providing substantial coverage for trim and shelving applications. Before ordering, measure your project requirements carefully and allow for waste from cutting and any joints or mitres. If your project requires multiple lengths, order accordingly as each pack contains one continuous length.

  • Single 5.49m length per pack
  • 18mm thickness and 97mm width
  • Suitable for projects requiring substantial profile width
  • Plan for cutting waste and joints in your measurements

Preparation and fixing

The profile arrives primed and ready to use, though you may wish to apply additional paint or stain depending on your finish requirements. Cut to length using a fine-toothed saw or circular saw to minimise chipping. Fix using appropriate fixings for your substrate: panel pins or brad nails for lighter applications, or screws for structural shelving. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and level before installation. The moisture-resistant coating is already applied, so no additional sealing is required for internal use.

  • Use fine-toothed saw for clean cuts
  • Fix with panel pins, brad nails, or screws depending on application
  • Ensure substrate is clean, dry, and level
  • Pre-primed finish means minimal on-site preparation needed

Pre-installation checks

Inspect the length for any damage or defects upon delivery. Check that the chamfered and rounded profile is consistent along the entire length and that the primed finish is intact. Ensure your project substrate is suitable for MDF installation and that environmental conditions are appropriate; MDF performs best in stable, dry conditions. Do not use this profile in external applications or areas subject to prolonged water exposure, as the moisture-resistant coating is designed for internal humidity protection only.

  • Check for damage or defects on arrival
  • Verify primed finish is intact
  • Confirm substrate is suitable and level
  • Not suitable for external use or areas of persistent dampness
