Standard Ogee Primed Moisture Resistant MDF Profile 5.49 Mtr 18mm x 117mm

What this product is and who it is for

This is a primed MDF moulding profile with a classic ogee (curved) edge detail. It is designed for both professional trades and serious DIY customers undertaking interior finishing work. The moisture-resistant primer makes it suitable for use in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas where traditional MDF would be at risk. It works well for skirting boards, dado rails, architraves, and decorative wall panelling where a finished appearance is required without additional edge profiling.

Sizing and pack contents

Each length is 5.49 metres, 18mm thick, and 117mm wide. This single length provides ample material for most domestic and commercial projects. The 117mm width makes it suitable for prominent wall features and dado applications. The 18mm thickness offers a good balance between structural integrity and ease of handling and cutting. Measure your project requirements carefully, as this is supplied as a single continuous length rather than multiple shorter pieces.

Compatibility and preparation

This MDF profile is compatible with standard wood adhesives and fasteners used in building work. The primed surface is ready for painting or staining, eliminating the need for primer application. Before installation, check that your wall or substrate is flat, dry, and stable. Ensure all fixings and adhesives are suitable for moisture-resistant MDF. Allow the profile to acclimatise to the room environment for 24 to 48 hours before fixing to minimise movement after installation.

  • Compatible with standard wood adhesives and mechanical fasteners
  • Pre-primed surface ready for paint or stain finish
  • Moisture-resistant treatment suitable for humid environments
  • Acclimatise to site conditions before fixing

Pre-installation checks

Inspect the length for any damage or warping before starting work. Ensure your cutting and fixing tools are appropriate for MDF and sharp to avoid tear-out on the ogee profile. Confirm wall fixings are secure and suitable for the weight and length of the profile. Plan your layout and cut lengths carefully, as the 5.49m length is supplied as a single piece. Use appropriate dust extraction when cutting, as MDF generates fine dust.
