Installation and preparation
Before installation, ensure the profile is acclimatised to the site environment for at least 48 hours to prevent movement after fixing. The primed surface is ready for immediate use but should be inspected for any damage during delivery. Cut lengths using a fine-toothed saw to minimise chipping on the profiled edge. Secure the profile using appropriate fixings such as panel pins, screws, or adhesive suitable for primed MDF, ensuring fixings are spaced at regular intervals to maintain a strong, stable joint. Fill any nail holes or joints with suitable MDF filler before final decoration.

Finishing and maintenance
The primed coating provides a base for decoration but is not a final finish. Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper before applying paint or stain to ensure good adhesion and a smooth surface. Apply quality interior paint or wood stain according to manufacturer instructions, using at least two coats for best results. In moisture-prone areas, ensure adequate ventilation and consider using moisture-resistant paint formulations. Regular dusting and occasional wiping with a damp cloth will maintain the finish; avoid prolonged exposure to standing water or excessive humidity.

Limitations and storage
This profile is designed for interior use only and should not be exposed to external weather or prolonged direct moisture. The 5.49 metre length is fixed and cannot be extended; plan projects accordingly to minimise waste. MDF is denser than solid timber and requires sharp tools for clean cutting. Do not use in areas subject to continuous high humidity or direct water contact without additional protective measures.
