Compatibility and applications
This profile works well as a substrate for veneering, painting, or staining. Its flat, stable surface is ideal for furniture panels, internal wall linings, shelving, and decorative moulding applications. The ovolo edge profile adds visual interest and is commonly used for skirting boards, architrave, and feature panelling. Pre-installation checks and preparation
Before fixing, inspect the length for any damage or defects. Store the profile flat and in dry conditions — even moisture-resistant MDF can absorb water if left exposed. Allow the material to acclimatise to your site conditions for 24 to 48 hours before installation, particularly if moving from a cold warehouse to a heated interior. Check that your wall, frame, or substrate is level and true using a spirit level, as MDF will not hide underlying irregularities. Measure twice and cut once — mark cutting lines clearly and use a fine-toothed saw or circular saw for clean edges.

Fixing methods and finishing

For moisture-prone areas, ensure all cut edges are sealed with paint or appropriate edge sealant to maintain the moisture-resistant properties of the material.
