Regency Primed Moisture Resistant MDF Profile 5.49 Mtr 18mm x 169mm

What this product is and who it is for

This is a profiled MDF board with an integrated moisture-resistant primer coating. It is designed for builders, carpenters, and serious DIY enthusiasts undertaking construction work, shelving installation, cabinet building, or furniture making. The pre-primed surface and moisture resistance make it particularly suitable for projects where durability and low maintenance are priorities, and where exposure to humidity or moisture is a concern.

Sizing and pack contents

Each board measures 5.49 metres in length, 169mm in width, and 18mm in thickness. This is a single length supplied as one continuous piece. Measure your project requirements carefully before ordering, as the full 5.49m length is supplied per unit. If you need multiple boards or shorter lengths, order accordingly and plan cutting on site or arrange pre-cutting if available.

  • Length: 5.49 metres (full length per board)
  • Width: 169mm
  • Thickness: 18mm
  • Finish: Primer-coated (ready to paint or stain)
  • Grade: F16 timber grade

Compatibility and applications

This profiled MDF board is suitable for interior and exterior applications. Common uses include wall linings, shelving systems, partition walls, and furniture construction. The moisture-resistant primer makes it compatible with environments where humidity or occasional moisture exposure is expected. Confirm your specific application requirements match these uses before purchase, particularly for exterior exposure.

  • Interior wall linings and cladding
  • Shelving and storage systems
  • Partition walls and room dividers
  • Cabinet and furniture making
  • Exterior applications (with moisture-resistant primer)

Pre-installation checks and preparation

Before fixing, inspect the board for damage in transit and allow it to acclimatise to the installation environment for 24 to 48 hours. Check that your fixing points, supports, or framework are level and properly spaced to support the 18mm thickness. The board arrives primer-coated, so no sealing is required before installation, but you may wish to apply additional paint or stain after fixing depending on your finish preference. Ensure all cutting is completed before installation, and seal any cut edges with primer or paint to maintain moisture resistance.

  • Allow 24 to 48 hours acclimatisation after delivery
  • Inspect for transit damage before fixing
  • Verify support framework is level and adequately spaced
  • Complete all cutting before installation
  • Seal cut edges with primer or paint to maintain moisture protection
  • Use appropriate fixings for MDF (screws or adhesive as per your application)
