How and where to use guide
Hardwood Plywood 2440 x 1220 x 12mm B/BB Premium Streply EN314-2 CI2 & EN636-2S, E1 Class 2 also known as WBP
Typical Applications
This plywood is purpose-built for interior joinery and cabinetry projects where a quality finished surface is required. Use it for cabinet carcasses, fitted wardrobes, shelving systems, and bespoke furniture construction. The high-grade face veneer and exceptional stability make it suitable for applications where the finished face will be visible or require painting and veneering. It is also appropriate for internal fit-out work in commercial and residential settings where structural performance and aesthetic finish must both be delivered.
- Cabinet and wardrobe carcasses
- Built-in shelving and storage units
- Bespoke furniture construction
- Internal partition backing and fit-out
- Painted or veneered internal panels
Installation and Handling
Handle sheets carefully to avoid damage to the premium face veneer. Store flat in a dry, well-ventilated space and allow the material to acclimatise to site conditions for at least 48 hours before use. Protect from moisture and direct weather exposure during storage and on site. When cutting, use a fine-toothed saw blade to minimise chipping on the face veneer. Support sheets adequately during cutting and handling to prevent flexing or warping. Ensure adequate ventilation when machining to manage dust safely.
- Store flat in dry conditions; allow 48-hour acclimatisation before use
- Protect from moisture and weather exposure
- Use fine-toothed blades when cutting to preserve veneer quality
- Support sheets fully during handling and machining
- Wear appropriate dust protection when cutting or routing
Finishing and Maintenance
The smooth B/BB face veneer is ready for painting, staining, or veneering without extensive surface preparation. For painted finishes, apply a suitable primer and undercoat before topcoat application. For natural finishes, sand lightly with fine-grit paper and apply appropriate wood stain or clear lacquer. Once in service, maintain with regular dusting and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight, which may affect colour stability. The EN636-2S classification confirms this material is suitable for interior use only and must not be exposed to high-humidity or external conditions.
- Suitable for painting, staining, or veneering
- Minimal surface preparation required due to premium finish
- Interior use only; not suitable for external or high-moisture environments
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to maintain colour consistency
- Maintain with regular dusting; protect from water ingress
Limitations and On-Site Considerations
This plywood is classified for interior use with controlled moisture exposure (CI2 and EN636-2S). It must not be used externally or in wet environments such as bathrooms, kitchens with high steam exposure, or outdoor applications. The 12mm thickness is suitable for standard cabinetry and shelving but check load requirements for your specific application; thicker sheets may be required for wide unsupported spans or heavy-duty shelving. Always check local building regulations and project specifications before specifying. Ensure adequate edge support and bracing in structural applications to maximise stability and prevent racking.
- Interior use only; not suitable for external or wet environments
- Verify thickness is adequate for your load and span requirements
- Provide adequate edge support and bracing in structural applications
- Check project specifications and building regulations compliance
- Do not expose to prolonged moisture or high-humidity conditions
