Typical applications and where to use

This panel excels in internal joinery, fitted furniture, kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, and structural sheathing where both load-bearing capacity and a quality finish are required. It is certified to EN 12871 for load-bearing use, making it suitable for shelving, structural backing, and flooring substrates in commercial and residential projects. The high moisture resistance (EN 636-2 / Use Class 2) makes it appropriate for humid interiors such as kitchens and bathrooms, and for protected external applications like covered soffits or fascia boards when properly sealed. It is not suitable for fully exposed external use without comprehensive sealing.

  • Internal cabinetry, fitted furniture, and joinery work

Installation and handling on site

Store sheets flat or slightly inclined in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and moisture sources. Allow the plywood to acclimatise to site conditions for 48 hours before installation. Handle with care to avoid edge damage; the square-edge profile requires careful stacking. When cutting, use sharp blades and support the sheet properly to prevent tear-out on the face veneer. For structural applications, follow building regulations and ensure adequate support spacing based on load requirements. Fasten securely using appropriate fixings for the application; for load-bearing work, consult structural specifications.

  • Store flat in dry conditions; allow 48-hour acclimatisation before use

Moisture management and finishing

Although this plywood has high moisture resistance and meets EN 636-2S standards for Use Class 2 (humid interiors), it is not waterproof and requires appropriate finishing for its environment. In internal applications, standard paint, varnish, or veneer finishes are suitable. For humid areas, ensure good ventilation and consider moisture-resistant finishes. For any external or protected external use, seal all surfaces, edges, and cut edges thoroughly with exterior-grade sealant or paint to prevent moisture ingress. The E1 emission classification confirms low formaldehyde content, making it suitable for interior residential and commercial spaces.

  • Do not leave unsealed in wet or fully exposed conditions

Limitations and maintenance

This panel is not suitable for fully exposed external use without comprehensive sealing. The 18mm thickness and structural certification make it suitable for standard domestic and light commercial loads, but for heavy industrial or high-load applications, verify load capacity against design requirements. The B/BB grade provides a quality face veneer but the reverse side is lower grade; plan layouts accordingly. Once installed, maintain by keeping the environment dry and well-ventilated, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. Inspect sealed external applications periodically and recoat as needed to maintain moisture protection.
