What this product is and who it is for
Caber MDF Pro MR is a moisture-resistant fibreboard engineered to resist wetting and humidity problems better than standard MDF. The homogeneous wood fibre construction delivers consistent machinability and a smooth finish across the entire sheet. This product suits builders, joiners, and experienced DIY customers installing fitted furniture, wall panelling, and built-in cabinetry in moisture-prone spaces. It is not suitable for external use or fully wet environments.

- Homogeneous structure allows clean machining and edge finishing
- FSC Certified and compliant with BS EN 622 and E1 emission standards
Sizing and pack contents
Each sheet measures 2440 x 1220mm with a thickness of 9mm. This is a single board supplied as one sheet per pack. The dimensions are standard metric sizing, compatible with most UK workshop equipment and fitting templates. Calculate your project requirements carefully, as partial sheets cannot be exchanged.
- Single sheet per pack: 2440 x 1220 x 9mm
- Standard metric sizing for UK machinery and templates
- Smooth both sides, ready to machine or finish
Compatibility and preparation before fixing
Before installation, store the board flat in a dry environment for at least 48 hours to allow acclimatisation to site conditions. Check that your workshop has adequate dust extraction when machining, as MDF generates fine particles. Ensure all cutting, routing, and edge-banding work is completed before final installation. The smooth surface requires no sanding prior to painting or veneering, but always prime edges and any cut surfaces to maintain moisture resistance.

- Use dust extraction when machining or routing
- Prime all cut edges and surfaces before painting to maintain moisture resistance
- Apply edge banding or veneer to exposed edges for durability
Pre-install checks
Inspect the board for damage or warping upon delivery. Confirm the sheet is flat and free from dents, splits, or water damage before beginning work. Verify that your installation location is adequately ventilated and that any moisture sources (such as plumbing or steam) are properly managed. Do not install in areas subject to prolonged saturation or direct water spray.
