Installation and handling

Dritherm 32 Ultimate batts are designed for straightforward installation between cavity wall studs or ties. The product should be handled carefully to avoid compression, as this reduces thermal performance. Ensure the cavity is clear of debris and mortar droppings before installation. Position batts to fit snugly without excessive force, maintaining their full thickness. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves, dust mask, and eye protection when handling mineral wool. Ensure adequate ventilation during installation.

Performance and limitations

This product achieves a thermal conductivity of 0.032 W/mK, providing excellent insulation value for standard cavity applications. The 100mm thickness is suitable for typical cavity widths. Dritherm 32 Ultimate will not perform effectively if compressed or if the cavity contains moisture. The product is not suitable for cavities narrower than the batt width or for applications requiring fire-rated performance beyond standard building regulations. Performance depends on correct installation without gaps or voids.

On-site tips and maintenance

Plan material delivery to avoid prolonged storage on site, as mineral wool should remain dry. Protect batts from weather and moisture before installation. Once installed within the cavity, the product requires no ongoing maintenance. Ensure cavity ventilation is not obstructed by insulation, as this can lead to moisture issues. If the building is to remain unfinished for extended periods, consider temporary weather protection to prevent water ingress into the cavity.
