How and where to use guide

A400258-ST-B Ulti-mate II Professional Woodscrew PoziSquare Double Csk Z & Y 4mm X 25mm - (8g) - 200 Box

Typical applications

These screws are suitable for fixing hardwood, softwood, and engineered timber boards including MDF, plywood, chipboard and OSB. They can also be used for fastening sheet metal applications. Common uses include cabinet assembly, joinery work, board-to-frame fixing, and general construction where a multi-purpose woodscrew is needed.

  • Hardwood and softwood framing and joinery
  • MDF, plywood, chipboard and OSB board assembly
  • Sheet metal fixing
  • Cabinet and furniture construction
  • Decking and external timber work

Driving and installation

The PoziSquare recess and included Stick-Fit driver bit provide a secure connection that holds the screw to the bit, enabling one-handed driving. The sharp point allows for rapid start without pre-drilling in most softwoods and engineered boards. The prominent thread at the tip engages immediately, reducing overall driving time and improving battery efficiency when using cordless drills.

  • Use the included Stick-Fit driver bit for optimal engagement
  • No pre-drilling required in most softwoods and board materials
  • Sharp point provides rapid start and immediate thread engagement
  • Suitable for cordless and corded drill drivers
  • One-handed driving capability with Stick-Fit connection

Material compatibility and limitations

These screws perform well across a wide range of materials from soft to hardwood, and engineered boards. However, for very dense hardwoods or hardened materials, pre-drilling may be necessary to prevent splitting or bit cam-out. Always ensure the screw length is appropriate for your application, allowing sufficient penetration into the base material without over-driving.

  • Suitable for soft and hardwoods without pre-drilling in most cases
  • Pre-drilling recommended for dense hardwoods and hardened materials
  • Effective in MDF, plywood, chipboard and OSB
  • Can be used for sheet metal applications
  • Ensure adequate penetration depth for secure fixing

On-site handling and storage

Store screws in a dry environment to prevent corrosion, particularly if using the zinc-plated finish in external applications. Keep the box sealed when not in use to protect the included driver bit and maintain screw condition. The 200-box quantity provides efficient stock management for larger projects or regular trade use.

  • Store in dry conditions to maintain finish integrity
  • Keep box sealed to protect driver bit and screws
  • Check driver bit condition regularly for wear or damage
  • Suitable for bulk storage on site for extended projects
  • Inspect screws before use for any damage or defects
